I remember seeing a noose around dolls that resembled his family. I remember being scared for his life. As an 11 yo. Obama wasn’t perfect, but he was literally an icon and a hero. For black people to throw dirt on his legacy in the name of progressiveness is stupid.

To deal with so many incompetent people. He couldn’t do everything he wanted. He couldn’t even get the VP he probably truly wanted, he had to get a ticket balancer. To get chastised and disrespected as if you’re not the commander-in-chief. That has to be mentally taxing.

But of course, let social media control the narrative of Obama. He’s just a black man who won 2 back to back general elections in a country that was built on racism. In a country that thrives on it. I just wish we’d defend our own. Nobody will so why can’t we do it ?
