89.5% say they are exercising restraint in going out, while 7.7% say they are not. Interestingly, 65.3% say they agree with a constitutional amendment allowing enforcement of government restrictions during an emergency.
51.9% support govt COVID-19 fiscal package (vs 36.5%), but a majority (50.9%) support a reduced amount of compensation as a one-time payment for all citizens (Kishida's proposal) over larger payment for only those households with major reduction in income (govt proposal-39%)
Unlike the recent Mainichi Shimbun poll, Sankei did ask about the 2 masks for every household govt policy...it was not pretty. 74.8% did not appraise it highly vs 21.1% seemingly ok with it.
Perhaps a partial reflection of this PR failure, appraisal for the collected measures taken by the Abe administration took a major dive from Sankei poll 3 week prior: A 28.7 point drop in positive evaluation to just 22.7%, with negative appraisal climbing to 64% (up 25.1%pts)
A smaller drop in cabinet support, however, although the negatives (44.3%) are back above the positive evaluation (39%). The Mainichi poll conducted on the 8th pointed to some dissatisfaction, but this poll will be a cause for concern for the Abe admin https://twitter.com/CoreyJWallace/status/1248416483144683528?s=20
