The more I think about the leaked report the more angry I am that people conspired to leak the details of anti-semitism victims in a way that puts them at risk. This complete disregard for the victims of racism is a stain on some around Corbyn and that can't be forgotten.
The behaviour of both factions at the top levels of the party undermined our chances of winning. The left cheered Ed Balls losing his seat and then the right seemed gutted that Emma Dent Coad won. Meanwhile most of us kept on trying to win elections.
I'm genuinely stunned by some of what I read and there need to be consequences. But we also need to remember that this wasn't an independent or balanced account. It is a case by one side against the other and there was often a lot of bad faith and bad behaviour on both sides.
The reaction to this for many looks like it will be to express shock at the treatment of Corbyn while doing the same or worse to Keir Starmer, perpetuating an ugly cycle, which will continue to lose us elections forever more.
What now? Obviously I want Keir to heal the divide and everyone to give him a chance to do so given the size of his victory. But lots of people on the left are already attacking him whatever he does or says. It seems hopeless.
