One of the ways Bakugo bullies deku was about deku being quirkless, but I think that he never actually gave a shit as to whether deku was quirkless or not— a thread
Bakugo has always shown that gives respect based on how an individual does the best that they can with what they’ve been dealt; if he really was only about power he would like todoroki, but he dislikes him because of his refusal to use the fire, or do his best
He didn’t hold back on uraraka because she was a girl, he figured that she would do her best regardless of any trait given to her at birth; he obviously doesn’t care about inherited traits, so why does he want to bully deku about being quirkless?
It’s because he didn’t make the best out of what he was dealt with; he spent his years just idolizing bakugo and all-might for their quirks, and viewed being quirkless as something that is completely debilitating
Bakugo has known his entire life that deku has a good heart and that alone makes deku qualified to be a hero
He reacted to deku’s quirklessness the same way he reacted to todoroki’s refusal: he got angry at them and called them shitty things related to their refusal to do their best with what they’ve been dealt
At the provisional license exam, he told the survivors to essentially stop being useless, get off their asses, and get moving; the professionals took this as him trying to tell them that they aren’t in need of direct assistance and they can move to the area on their own
The professionals who have known Bakugo for 0.3 seconds, knew that he was holding a deeper meaning behind his harsh words and was trying his best to help; this sort of thing has been proven over and over that Bakugo just doesn’t convey messages eloquently, or even nicely tbh
Point is, the only moments in which Bakugo was extremely harsh “without double meaning” are the ones from his elementary and middle school years, the exact ones that everybody shits on him about
So if he has used double meaning in every single other instance of being a dick, would u say that there was most likely a double meaning in his words back then??? And that they were even more harsh because he’s a kid and kids are even worse at communication???
Of course when he told deku to jump off the roof that’s some inexcusable and nasty behavior
Bring back my original point tho, even though Bakugo was insulting deku about being quirkless, he was only insulting his ability to do his best; he wasn’t insulting deku at face value about it
Bakugo has always been about wanting to do the best with what you have, and that is why he bullied deku about being quirkless— end thread
