I& #39;ve been thinking about how we& #39;ve finally managed to see a relatively decent argument about racialised health inequalities in the media this past week, and feel that outspoken/unapologetic poc leadership in @TheBMA really pushed this forward https://twitter.com/CNagpaul/status/1249595604214468609">https://twitter.com/CNagpaul/...
Ahead of this, members of the poc health community laid some important analysis in the media+online https://www.bmj.com/racism-in-medicine">https://www.bmj.com/racism-in... @DJDevakumar @sridhartweet @crageshri @thewrittenro @SJ_Mehta @AmeenKam @SoniaAdesara @frankthedoc1 plus the incredible @NursingNotesUK @MelaninMedics
It might not be surprising that poc leadership in all these groups is a significant common factor for driving fwd the narrative. Imagine what that means when it comes to leadership on disability justice, queer liberation or class solidarity+the stories we miss from these comms
POC are left to fight for themselves because white folks arent coming to save us. In the same way, let& #39;s be sure POC leadership are decent allies who speak to their experience of injustice with other marginalised groups they share that exp with #nooneisfreetillweareallfree
