It seems clear that the leaking of this internal report is designed to do maximum damage to the Labour Party and undermine its new leader. It's a scorched earth policy from the left. Sadly I think it will be deeply damaging to the party, and delay any opportunity for recovery.

My thoughts are with those whose personal details have unfairly been released in this way, and I hope they get full legal redress. But the glee with which the left has promoted the report's contents exposes the insincerity of its constant demands for loyalty over the last years.

My argument, and that of others, has always been that the left didn't give a shit about Labour, or its founding purpose of winning power through parliament in order to improve lives. This leak, and the left's response to it, proves that point in a terrible and categorical manner.
