I want leftists to understand that any disruption to capitalism sizeable enough to actually move us into a new mode of production is not going to be spearheaded by the “left,” but from a mass movement that won’t begin with far thought-ahead political objectives.
If you consider your organization or your ideology central to our transcendence beyond capitalism, any revolution you lead won’t actually be represented by the entirety of the working class, and therefore won’t be permanent and won’t break capitalism.
The left will prob be a part of this disruption. it may even have sizeable influence over it, but to think that we and our specific ideas would be central to it is just hubris, a delusion carried over from “great man” theories of history (which even leftists regularly play into).
