Unfortunately vendors on such platforms willingly GAVE their power to those platforms. Restaurants and deliveries existed way before ordering apps, it was consensus between restaurants that agreed to give 30% of their revenue to said platforms. Now they’re the ones complaining? https://twitter.com/kfertranslation/status/1249041955310514178
We see many industries form labor parties to contest minimum wage or healthcare, how come none exist for the f&b industry, especially one so big like in Kuwait, where they all come together and agree to not pay an arm and a leg to those monopolizing platforms?
The easiest thing to do is to complain, just “go with it,” or wait for a savior to come and show you another solution, like @goZyda if we’re talking locally. Restaurants were so easily forced to give a huge revenue cut to these platforms it hugely affected consumer choices too.
Going to end this thread here, but I’ll link my rant on how even at 30% those platforms are stealing a living from both vendors and customers and how we all made them get away with it. https://twitter.com/ferasald/status/1204326648805502978
