I agree with calls for transparency + more frequent information. But expecting the media or the public to act responsibly with projections has already been shown to be extremely foolish and panic-causing. (Let's remember the M&G's scary graph, for one. Or, um Vaccine-Gates). https://twitter.com/News24/status/1249580615378370560
We are provided with daily data on tests, results, and deaths.

We know how many beds and ventilators we have in hospitals.

We are told about prisons, about hospitals with outbreaks.

This is a lot of useful info.
What News24 seems to be asking is that government share projections. I.e. predictions about the future. Because what we all want is a crystal ball, attached to a log graph preferably (I blame this fallacy on the graphers, who have contrived to make graphs resemble 'truth')
There have been repeated calls from disease modellers globally to stop the panic-trend to want to model this pandemic. Even where it has been modelled elsewhere, those models might not hold true for South Africa's population and its age and HIV and TB factors.
In the middle of a crisis it can be hard to accept that – from a general (public) perspective – we only know what we know. Don't believe some Bayesian approach with a P value is the same as an actual future.

* You can't fact-check the future. Unless you are Marty McFly
Govt is quite obviously modelling various outcomes. But are they obliged to share all of these with us, now? I'm not so sure. They are using this data to test out necessary responses. And we (the public, and my media fraternity with its drama headlines) use it for fear/clicks.
Let's rather ask for continued transparency on the now. The # of tests being done, solutions for crowded areas, infection control, protection of frontline health and other workers and so on.

If a lack of graphs is what's bugging you, you're looking in the wrong place maybe?
