what this pandemic has taught me / should teach us all: thread
- most of our governments and systems are unsustainable. they neglect too many people, and crack under pressure. already neglected marginalised and indigenous groups get hit the hardest.
- most of our governments and systems are unsustainable. they neglect too many people, and crack under pressure. already neglected marginalised and indigenous groups get hit the hardest.
- individuals, especially from a lower socioeconomic background, need to stop being used as scapegoats in quest to save the environment. it& #39;s unrealistic, sociopathic, and mostly futile. speak up against governments and corporations who are the real problem
- multi-million or billion dollar companies who cannot support their employees in a crisis do not deserve a cent of our money and need to be boycotted into bankruptcy
- people look for crazy theories to explain the unknown. for support. to belong. to find something to blame. this is not a new concept. some of these beliefs are rooted in intolerance and hatred, and are usually already present and exacerbated in a state of panic.
- we are social beings through and through. form good connections. spend time with people who make you happy. cherish moments with others. look out for people who are isolated or lonely.
- we can reduce the amount of people being lugged into built-up cities on congested roads and trains; forcing people to make mentally, physically and time exhausting commutes. if your employees can work from home, they should be able to work from home.
- protection for people who rent. support for people who live in abusive, violent or unbearable housing situations.
- my idea of what is a necessity was completely skewed. i also realised how much money i was spending stuff that added no value to my life.
