Not a fan of the “nurses are angels” narrative at all

Undermines the role

They are professionals doing a difficult job

Not “powered by love” , they need the right skills, training and competencies to do what they do

Some seem to have taken this tweet as me “insulting nurses”

It is the opposite

Lots and lots of people are caring and compassionate (nurses or other HCPs don’t have ownership of these character traits!)

It doesn’t mean they have the ability or skills to be a nurse!
