32 Winston Churchill vs 33 William Grenville. Churchill: He actually called Germany invading Poland as early as 1933. Grenville: Played a major role in the wars around the French Revolution.
16 Bonar Law vs 49 William Pitt the Younger. Law: Born in what is now Canada, he was the first Prime Minister born outside the British Isles. Pitt the younger: Created the Acts of Union which created the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
17 Arthur Wellesley vs 48 William Pitt. Wellesley: Was a major general in the Battle of Waterloo. Pitt: Known as "The Great Commoner" because he refused a title for ages until 1766.
25 Neville Chamberlain vs 40 Charles Grey. Chamberlain: Although he tried to prevent the Second World War, he did in fact build up the British armed forces in case he failed. Grey: The Earl Grey.
24 Robert Gascoyne-Bannerman vs 41 Anthony Eden. Gascoyne-Bannerman: Resigned as Secretary of India over suffrage to working class man. Eden: Was behind Britain and France's response to the Suez Crisis.
29 Benjamin Disraeli vs 36 Frederick North. Disraeli: Instrumental in the creation of the Conservative Party and its ties to the British Empire. North: PM during most of the American War for Independence.
13 Gordon Brown vs 52 H. H. Asquith. Brown: Last Labour Prime minister. Asquith: Led the UK into World War One and eventually resigned in 1916 due to criticisms of his handling of the War.
20 Spencer Compton vs 45 William Petty. Compton: The Second Prime Minister. Petty: Secured peace with America after the American War for Independence.
28 Henry Campbell-Bannerman vs 37 Alec Douglas-Home. Campbell-Bannerman: The only PM to also be Father of the House at the same time. Douglas-Home: Last PM to be PM whilst being a Lord.
12 Arthur Balfour vs 53 Spencer Perceval. Balfour: Opposed Irish home rule. Perceval: The only Prime Minister to be assasinated.
21 Henry Pelham vs 44 George Hamilton-Gordon. Pelham: Notable for being unnotable. Hamilton-Gordon: Lead a chaotic coalition between multiple factions, with limited amount of control over his ministers.
31 William Cavendish-Bentinck vs 34 John Russell. Cavendish-Bentinck: Served as PM twice with a 24 year gap, the largest of any PM. Russell: responsible for the First Reform Act, which was the first step towards the UKs modern "democracy"
15 David Lloyd George vs 50 William Lamb. George: the last Liberal Prime Minister. Lamb: Coached Queen Victoria in politics.
18 Boris Johnson vs 47 Frederick John Robinson. Johnson: Latest Prime Minister. Robinson: Shortest tenure for a Prime Minister who didn't leave because of death (144 days)
26 James Callaghan vs 39 Margaret Thatcher. Callaghan: Only person to server in all four "great offices" being Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary, and Chancellor. Thatcher: Is dead.
10 Charles Watson-Wentworth vs 55 John Stuart. Watson-Wentworth: I really don't know what to put here. Stuart: First Scottish Prime Minister.
23 Clement Atlee vs 42 Harold Macmillan. Atlee: created the welfare state and the NHS. Macmillan: Began decolonisation of sub-saharan Africa.
30 Edward Heath vs 35 Robert Jenkinson. Heath: strong supported to the European communites (precursor to EU) and was behind the UK joining the EC. Jenkinson: Was PM during the War of 1812.
14 Theresa May vs 51 John Major. May: First Prime Minister to be found in contempt of parliament. Major: Overshadowed by Thatcher tbh.
19 Augustus FitzRoy vs 46 Tony Blair. FitzRoy: Stepped down after criticism of allowing France to annex Corsica. Blair: Famous for pulling Labour to the centre during his reign.
27 Sir Robert Walpole vs 38 William Cavendish. Walpole: First Prime Minister. Cavendish: didn't really do a lot tbh.
11 Harold Wilson vs 54 Stanley Baldwin. Wilson: Lead a minority government for a few months. Baldwin: Oversaw the abdication crisis of Edward VIII.
22 Ramsay MacDonald vs 43 George Canning. MacDonald: First Labour Prime Minister. Canning: Not much to put here.
