Let's game this "but the economy" argument out. Just for hell of it. Assumptions: 1) the economy (which really wasn't on anything but a bad sugar high anyway thanks to the recent "tax breaks" - but let's just ignore that fact), is going to crash.
2) The only possible solution we can find to deal with #1 is to ignore reality and send everyone back to work - maybe we put them in a mask.

Sooo.. here we go.... We don't have enough masks. People are making them out of T-shirts and bra pads....
Know what? that's a wild hope, not a plan.... I walk around a lot and notice stuff (I'm a documentary photographer - we see stuff). I'm also a biologist & biochemist who has worked with a lot of nasties. I've yet to see someone wearing a mask properly & keeping their mitts off it
Further, that bra cup you have strapped to your face isn't going to do much to help you from catching the virus even if you "wear it properly (?)"... it's more a help to keep you from spreading the virus.... again... we are firmly into hope and not a plan territory...
So we send everyone back to work... the most vulnerable will be the poor folks... the ones picking your food, producing stuff, selling you stuff, shipping, handling... yada, yada, yada.... it will spread through that huge population fast....

A little bit about viruses now...
From everything I've seen, this is a really contagious virus. It spreads rapidly and easily. That means it can kill the host quicker because it has already hopped to a bunch of new hosts (it's like an evolutionary thing... find an epidemiology text... fascinating stuff)...
So back to our poor who are growing, processing, and selling us food and other stuff who don't have the resources or luxury the rich folks do... they start getting sick and dying... but before they die, the spread the disease... Know who is next in line? Health care providers...
These folks have a better understanding of disease, transmission, and how to protect themselves... but no 'effin supplies while they are being overwhelmed with the folks that were growing our food, making, and shipping our stuff before they got sick...
Health care folks start dying off.... Now we have a bigger problem. It takes about 12 years of study to become a doc, and I don't care what Cletus says about "dem ejucated elites" - docs are hard to replace. Ohh.. and they continue to spread the disease in the population...
OK! So where are we at? We have killed off folks producing, shipping and selling stuff, and killed off our health care providers in a pandemic....

So... how's the economy now? Looks like shite to me, with a bigger, much harder road to recovery and crap sitting in factories...
The "just ignore it" crowd haven't thought this through at all. As usual they are ignoring reality and counting on someone else paying the price. It's how we got in this mess to being with. There are other solutions to this problem than "fuck the poor" - which isn't a solution.
