All the freaky muted tone “we are here for you...” ads that are now their own pandemic should say “we need you to be here for us...” It’s insulting and bizarre. You’re here for me if I buy a new car or use your service department? huh?!? Weirdest trend in marketing in my lifetime
the whole format is odd. It’s outright disingenuous and sounds so weird. Why deliver the message like this? I wonder what car company was the first? It’s now spilled many other industries. What’s the targeted impression? “Man I’m glad this car maker is doing so much for me!?”
As in nothing.
Better alternative: "Things are so weird right now that we will do basically anything to get you into the car of your dreams! We are cutting crazy deals to move inventory off our dealers' lots. Finance through us and we will even take the car back if you lose your job!...
"Need service, but don't want to die trying, no problem! We will pick-up and return your vehicle at no extra charge and we will disinfect it when we drop it off!" We are doing everything we can to survive during this crisis. Let's help each other out!"
