It is just astonishing to me that folks are mad at me for sharing the view of a slew of people, including Dr. Fauci, that we may not be able to “reopen” the country, incl schools, for 18 months.

It’s fucking science. Vaccines and herd immunity are not miraculous overnight things

We should absolutely hope for, and support the research scientists who are seeking, faster solutions than this.

I have two parents in their seventies and an immunocompromised mother in law, however, and I am not risking their lives under any circumstances.

I am going to follow the recommendations of experts.

I am not being inflammatory by suggesting that we all should be prepared to continue on like this until, at the earliest, 2021.

(I mean, if you’re mad at me, go scream at research scientists and medical experts. Damn.)
