Real takeaway of @mcuban interview this morning was when talked about NBA return. Said:
1) Games would first be played without fans, but only when league can determine it to be safe for players and team employees.
2) Fans at games comes back only when medical solution found

Going to #2, it might be 12-24 months before society finds a vaccine or like. Not questioning his premise. It’s spot on. But what percentage of Basketball Related Income (BRI) comes from local gate?
While this year the NBA will close out June 30th fiscal year revenues down 10-15%, wondering what next year looks like without that gate revenue.
Let’s say the BRI drop for next year is 30% down from peak of 2018-19 season. Has ramifications for much more than just Giannis contract extension amount. Think of all the guys like Chris Paul, Middleton, etc, etc theoretically locked into $30 to $40 million dollar salaries.
Re-upping this thread, as it will be a continuous discussion. City, County and convention center district will have some big budget holes, as it is hard to envision Fiserv Forum opening anytime soon, or even at any point in rest of calendar year.
