Can I be honest for a sec? I& #39;ve been struggling with the concept of hands for a while. I LOVE the idea of using hand gestures to allow characters to emote more, ESPECIALLY for a series where every character& #39;s face is covered. But at the same time, I want to remain as "purist"...
...as possible for the fan series. And even if I decided to break the Bionicle-piece purist rule, there& #39;s still the problem of actually FINDING hyper-posable Bionicle hands. Brick built ones usually end up too clunky, and while I have actually found a 3D-printed model I love...
...I& #39;m not sure I want to go the route of 3D printing for parts other than masks because it& #39;ll be RIDICULOUSLY hard to duplicate the flat silver color most of the Toa have and IMPOSSIBLE to get the trans-light-blue for Kopaka. And that& #39;s ignoring the obvious problem with texture.
And even if both of those problems magically disappeared it would still cost an insane amount of money to have them all printed. So I& #39;m kinda stuck. I hate the idea of the Toa being forced to try and emote with closed fists all the time but there isn& #39;t really an easy solution.
Ah, well, though. I have time, I suppose, before I really have to worry about that. But if anyone has any ideas, I& #39;d love to hear & #39;em. Mostly this thread is just me venting into the void after staring at the same shapeways product for five minutes. I guess we& #39;ll see what happens.
