Hey #Screenwriters. At some point in your #screenwriting career, you’re going to need to write what I call your “Fuck It” script. That script where you don’t worry about anything/anyone and just write a unique/original (but cinematic) script that YOU want to see👊 @screencrafting
And here’s the thing. The “fuck it” script is the one where you don’t let any industry person try to change (until it’s sold, maybe). It’s the one where you just find the person that sees your vision and falls in love with it for what it is. Still has to be brilliant though😜
1)!And here’s a tip. You can trick Hollywood into reading them by creating a hybrid. Wrap your “Fuck It” concept/story into a desirable genre. Start that action thriller or horror script in conventual manner, and then take it off the rails in fun/creative/crazy direction😈😂
2) The idea of a hybrid is to give them what they want, but while creating something truly original and unique that YOU want. I created a serial killer script like no other, with two different timelines converging. You don’t know it’s a serial killer script until last act...
You still have to do the front-end work. “Fuck It” doesn’t mean you rush and throw all you’ve learned/studied out the window. Visualize it first. Let the seed grow. See most of it in your head. Take your time. Play with it. And avoid the vomit draft. https://thescriptlab.com/features/screenwriting-101/9800-screenwriting-misconceptions-the-vomit-draft/
