I really wish i could understand where people with political opinions that are the complete opposite of mine are coming from bc most of the time it seems like they are heartless and lack empathy but i know that isnt true and i just dont understand where the disconnect is
Also, i wish that our government was composed of people who properly represented all the races, socioecomic classes, genders, sexual orientations, religions, etc that are present in American society bc then maybe more people would feel their problems are properly respresented
I think this is why @AOC is so popular and affective (besides being simply brilliant) bc she brings perspectives, experiences, ideas, and opinions to the table that represent a subculture that is otherwise disregarded when it comes to politics
It comes back to the protest that kickstarted the american revolution - taxation without representation - every american deserves to feel as though they are properly represented in their government and one that is predominantly white, male, and upper class fails to do that
But, so long as people feel that the system is impossibly rigged and that theres no way to achieve better than what we have now there will be no forward progress and thats the saddest part of it all. Vote for people who you think will best represent you as a person and your views
At the end of the day we are all the center of our own universes that coexist beside each other and within a greater universe and no one is right and no one is wrong there are simply different ways of doing things and the closest we'll come to truth is if every voice is heard
We are all the parts that make the whole and proper representation/diversity/whatever you want to call it is, in my opinion, the only way the public will be satisfied with our government and is why education and reliable news is integral to our society
And one last note for this thread no one cares about - dont listen to a republican about what democrats think and vice versa and that goes for any label that is how misinformation and stereotypes are spread just go straight to a source
