DOs and DO NOTs of researching the occult:

DO:
-research the different groups and understand the basic philosophies of each group.

DO NOT:
-research or dabble in the rituals, instruments, symbols or practices of each group.
DO:
-research the leaders and figures of groups and their relationships with known institutions, eg. Hollywood, Media, Entertainment, Celebrities, etc.

DO NOT:
-research specific demons, demonic symbols or divine figures of occult groups.
DO:
-gain awareness of occult influences on our modern world so that you can avoid their influence.

DO NOT:
-seek contact with any occult groups or take part in occult practices yourself.
DO:
-seek the guidance from the church, church fathers, and the writings of saints surrounding things involving the occult. confess any dabbling you may have done in the occult.

DO NOT:
-invoke demons (especially not by name) or open yourself up to spiritual influence.
DO:
-be extremely careful, pray the litany of St Michael when you feel you are under spiritual threat.

DO NOT:
-involve yourself in relatively common things that have connection with the occult, eg. new age, astrology, lucid dreaming, astral projection, psychics, etc.
remember that knowledge of demons makes them stronger and attracts their attention. in the same way that it was the knowledge of good and evil that caused the Fall, it is the careless research of dangerous spiritual subjects that can draw unwanted spirits towards you.
REMEMBER THAT DEMONS ARE STRONGER AND SMARTER THAN YOU, AND WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO ETERNALLY CONDEMN YOUR SOUL. THEY ARE EXTREMELY CUNNING AND OUTSIDE OF OUR PHYSICAL SENSES.
