Hey friends, I knew we’ve been quiet for a little bit, but here’s some amazing things that have been hanging amidst the grief and pain of the coronavirus world that might be of interest... (thread) 1/
First up, we are really excited about @bgstokes new book “Locally Played” from @mitpress with forward by @kinojabber. Hopefully of use TL many in their research and curricular efforts!
Second, wanted to get out on your radar this incredible effort by Melinda over at @DiGRA_org to provide a way for people to find each other for volunteering to stream lecture and offer classroom support. https://e7jry.glideapp.io"> https://e7jry.glideapp.io .

Third, wanted you to know the fine folks at @FDGconf are in the process of making all of the conference and the proceedings available online: kudos to FDG (and @DiGRA_org , and a few others) for standing firm and ensuring that a year of scholarship and thinking isn’t lost.
Fourth, if you haven’t seen what these @UUtah @eae_gamerU students have been doing with @deafthreadgames “We Went Back” they were on the front page of @steam_games which is an incredible example of #supportStudentGames and a testimony to academic game studios!
And fifth, @kinojabber’s your Fe five continues with free versions of @uscgamelab’s Walden, A Game available for free for educators and students during this time. https://www.waldengame.com/blog/2020/3/17/walden-free-for-home-schooling-during-coronavirus">https://www.waldengame.com/blog/2020...
We know there are list of other thjngs and we will follow up with more. Please be safe, please be kind, and please explore how games and play can help us grow and survive these desperate times. And please reply with more things you are doing to help advance the field! ...
