increasingly disappointed with how trans people who raise concerns on the left are framed. not only have my takes been labelled as tone policing, some ppl have explicitly accused me of sexism and racism for my tweets about the "AMABs" discourse over the past few days.
ironically, i've been heavily tone policing myself this whole time. these were nuanced, carefully worded threads. sometimes it feels like i'm walking on eggshells, sometimes it feels like gas-lighting.
how can you say that you want to understand and are open to discussion, while simultaneously saying "you can never please them!" and retweeting people who dismiss everyone who was hurt or who took issue with what was said?
i never mentioned tone, i was accused of "tone policing".. yet the second i dare express any kind of anger or frustration i am immediately part of a dangerous, evil group that wants to cancel content creators? something doesn't add up
i'm not here to destroy you. i don't want to destroy you. criticism is not destruction. my concerns aren't violence. i talk about these things because i care. i care about transmisogyny. i just fucking care
part of the reason i created my channel was to honor a friend that is no longer with us. she was a fierce activist. every time i speak up, i think of her. to anyone who dismisses my trans activism as "performative", i have one question: how fucking dare you?
