This MSNBC special on coronavirus in the hospitals in Italy is breaking my heart. All those people dying alone. Everything in me wants to put on all the hazmat gear and go there and just hold their hands and stroke their hair so they know someone, anyone, is there. I know /2
They are sedated and wouldn't know anyway, and even their families are not allowed in. Besides, I'd be wearing PPE a professional healthcare person needs. It's just so hard to think about all those people who are loved by and belong to other people just dying alone. /3
I'm just venting, I suppose. So much I started this thread on a 2 and there isn't a missing /1 tweet. We don't even know if having had coronavirus means you are over it and cannot be positive again or infect others. But if we did I would hope people who are immune, if such /4
a state exists, would be allowed to be caregivers just for the humanity of it. Even if just to give the doctors and nurses a moment of relief. I'm overwhelmed watching it on my television. I cannot imagine how hopeless they must feel not being able to save everyone. /5
