there's something sinister about the way "then you support trump" is brought out to shut down dissent against biden. even the person saying it knows it's bad faith. it's not a real attempt to persuade, but to punish & insult.

what is the point of saying "biden is the only candidate that could beat trump" and different versions of "trump is bad"? who doesn't know these things? the point is: these aren't actual arguments, but efforts to intimidate, wear down, and silence criticism

as a person of color who has received countless violent threats from trump supporters it's especially insulting when biden people wield the threat of trump as a cudgel—it doesn't add any analysis. it mocks me, threatens me using the trauma that i've already experienced. ghoulish.
