I don't like to give this "Biden is a rapist" nonsense any oxygen by talking about it. But since everyone is so worried about it today, consider this: the NY Times dumped out its story on Easter, when it knew no one was paying attention anyway, because it found nothing credible.
NYT spent weeks digging into this story and found absolutely nothing, so it threw it into the publishing calendar garbage chute. If they'd found anything remotely credible, this would have been a huge story, and it would have been published on a day everyone was paying attention.
So if you're worried that these laughably false claims are going to hurt Biden, don't. Cable news is unlikely to give it ongoing coverage, which means the average voter won't even hear about it. Stop giving this phony story oxygen by debating it all day with the Twitter loons.
To give you an idea of how non-credible the New York Times found this claim, it added this to its story for emphasis: "Filing a false police report may be punishable by a fine and imprisonment." That's a clear signal that the reporters who investigated the claim think it's false.
The NY Times also made a point of documenting how this woman has previously admitted to being connected to Vladimir Putin. This is important, because while we should believe women, we know not to believe the Kremlin.
It's unlikely that even Trump will try to use this false claim against Biden, because that would put the spotlight back on Trump's dozens of very real accusers.
If there's a "win" here for Trump, it's that Biden may hesitate to bring up Trump's dozens of sexual assaults, for fear Trump will invoke this phony story in return. But the 2020 election (absurdly) was never going to hinge on Trump's status as a serial sexual assaulter anyway.
As for the cultists on Twitter who spend all day every day insisting that they won't vote for Biden because he's rapist, those are the people who were never going to vote for Biden anyway. They're only talking to each other in their own little bubble. Just block/ignore them.
I'm only addressing this because half my timeline today is people who know this story is false, but are afraid it'll take Biden down. My advice is to just stop talking about it. Unless it becomes a recurring narrative on CNN and MSNBC, it will go away. Don't feed it yourself.
