Stop using the term “Lagosian” to describe the people who happen to live in Lagos. “Lagosian” is a term that is reserved for the Yoruba people who live in that city. Most of us Yorubas who live here have ties that extend back to pre-colonial days..

..and the settlements of emancipated slaves here, we in most part are a conglomerate of dozens of Yoruba tribes from the Awori to Ijebu to Egba to Itsekiri to Ondo etc. that existed here long before the Igbo could take the midnight bus or the Fulani could pack their okadas here
