I think what people can fail to recognize is that a lot of sequels are only “better” due to the solid introductions of the first movie, allowing for the next one to hit the ground running. Also, this thread is a perfect example why Twitter sucks for discussion: there’s enough room to say what you think, but not why. There’s a lot of arguments to be had on this subject, yet it’s usually never followed up or ended at “agree to disagree”.
