If schools are staying closed through the year, we& #39;re going to need some changes to the distance learning program and yes, we& #39;re all going to need some breaks, my Monday column in the NY Post. https://nypost.com/2020/04/12/bill-de-blasio-needs-to-fix-remote-learning-to-keep-kids-out-of-school/">https://nypost.com/2020/04/1...
People keep saying "they& #39;re your kids, just do what you want" but I don& #39;t want to do what I want and reach the end of the year only to find out that we didn& #39;t do enough and my kids are repeating the year. We need direction from the DOE.
Teachers have been left adrift. They& #39;ve been treated terribly throughout this whole process--from being told to keep going in to work when everyone else was stopping to being given little support to switching programs with minimal notice to taking away their break. It& #39;s wrong.
Last point: distance learning is different than homeschooling but my homeschooling spirit animal @bethanyshondark had a whole thing on IG today how she& #39;s giving her kids a break in this stressful time. Yet NYC takes away the necessary break from students, parents and teachers.
