But Sanders himself was never really persuadable, & his top aides lost patience with efforts to force his hand.
(An alternate view, of course, is that most Democratic voters actually do like Biden — much as Sanders does himself — and that attacking him with claims that he is personally corrupt, dishonest and predatory would have been likelier to stir backlash than to change minds ...)
