My soldering station has been switched to sewing.
30 minutes earlier there were boxes of sewing notions and nail polish here.

If I am sewing I need space for the foot pedal and well it will be nice for soldering.
As it is the time of using the good fabrics, I found all my cotton.
I don't have elastic but I do have bias tape from the 60s/70s thanks to me getting grandma's notions.
So for me to be able to sew in a reasonably fast fashion, I need a drink. This way I am not a perfectionist and actually sew.

This works for me, you do you.

Snacks can be handy but wash your hands after snacking (or use chopsticks to keep dust off your fingers).
Yes, I centered the pattern on a Darth Vader because you are going to need to see at least one!
I cut around the piece and then go in close.
I have always ended up accidentally cut my pattern, it happens. Add more pins if needed.

The not straight edge don't matter too much because they will be in the seam. Yay seams!
Repeat for all pieces.

Remember you don't have to fold evenly in half.

Also you should wash and iron fabric beforehand, but YOLO. (I'll be washing it before I wear it.)
Sewing machine anatomy basics.
Real life sewing action!
This is what happens with my machine when I forget to hold the threads when starting.
Shit, this isn't right.

Time to rip out a crapton of thread and play with machine tension.
Cleaned the machine, wound a new bobbin, and rethreaded it.

Looks perfect.
Accidentally broke this thread but it is done! https://twitter.com/geekgalgroks/status/1249545938093383681?s=19
