so the other day i learned a fascinating story about..... black-market cat medicine.

so, there& #39;s a cat coronavirus, called FCOV. it& #39;s common worldwide and most of the time it& #39;s not a big deal.

but in a small percentage of cats it mutates into FIP, which is basically lethal.
a few years ago an experimental injectable antiviral called GS-441524 was shown to cure 25 out of 31 FIP-infected cats.

but the patent holder isn& #39;t interested in bringing it to market.

and if there& #39;s one thing in the world that& #39;s for certain: people love cats
the result of this is that "black market cat antivirals" are a real thing that exists.

anyways, there& #39;s no moral to this story or anything, but there is a kicker:
& #39;black market cat antivirals& #39; may not be the cyberpunk we deserve, but it& #39;s the cyberpunk we have.
