i've felt unsettled since reading that guardian piece re Nonga hospital & covid-19; not bc of realities of #PNG 's fractured health system that Aus reader pop should be well aware of by now (cue roll call their NGOs, png-aus partnership projects) but the way
ns have been cast.

as PNGns or those who have those who have a strong/ long connection or interest w/
and wish to write about the nation's issues, i think we have a responsibility to persist with framing PNGns as individuals capable of acting with self initiative & less of helplessness eg #MWTE

at this point i'm going to give a shout out to @drcbond @amymcquire & colleagues for their ace discussion that I've just listened to (will put link at end), educated by & has given me a lot to draw from to my obs & thinking of Aus media representation of PNG, esp people.
my feelings about the guardian piece can be summed up by borrowing @drcbond 's comments : a refusal to see us, need detach from the discourse of vulnerability and move towards capability, and this article being another act of confusing reader (Aus pop) about our identity.
