Why talk about things that make you uncomfortable?

Why should I be on here shouting about TW being biologically male?

It's frankly pretty bloody obvious. I'd say the vast majority of humans understand this. I'd suspect most trans people also recognize it.

However, that is not reflected in the messaging that goes out.

What is in my opinion a minority of trans, and a lot of noisy non-trans "allies", want to spout off absolute bullshit.

Controversial and weird gets clicks, everyone enjoys a trainwreck.

This ends up meaning... there's a reason the messaging has shifted to "Go educate yourself, google it."

Go ahead, go look up trans on google, look it up on youtube, look it up on twitter.

The nature of social media is pushing this crap to the top.

This tilting of narratives means the activists and weirdos get the attention, they get to be the only voices that get heard.

So when your normie hears something weird and "educates themselves"...

If they didn't think trans people were delusional before... they do now.

So why do I say what I do? "You're only preaching to the choir"?

Any narrative left unchecked leads eventually to extremism. It's very easy to get into an attitude of "us vs them", and paint everyone as the worst of what you see.

Reality is, most trans people aren't the crazies that get shared around and get all the attention... they just want to quietly live their life and not think about being trans 24/7.

I won't allow the crazy narratives be allowed to be the only voice that represents trans people. I'll say the things that make me uncomfortable, because there are good people who don't deserve to be painted as they are.

To not speak the truth, regardless of discomfort, is to cede the conversation to delusion.

I am a trans activist, just not what you're used to that being.
