Thread on Rob Holdings 18/19 season, the most underrated player at Arsenal
Rob Holding had an incredible start to his 18/19 season. He worked his way into the Arsenal starting XI under new manager Unai Emery and put in some crucial performances in Arsenals 22 game unbeaten run.
Premier League;
Rob Holding started 10 premier league games in succession for the first time in his Arsenal career. The first being against Everton in a 2-0 win and the last in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
In this time Holding formed a formidable partnership with new signing Sokratis and conceded 11 goals in these performances. Arsenal faced the likes of Leicester, Liverpool, Wolves, Spurs and Manchester United and in each game put in fantastic performances.
Europa league;
He started 5 games in succession in the Europa league as well, conceding just 2 goals as well as keeping two clean sheets against Sporting Lisbon who had now Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.
The 22 Game Unbeaten Run;
During the run of games Holding played he only conceded 15 goals in 17 games. Before injury cut his season short...
Rob was injured in the game against Manchester United ending his season. An ACL injury has meant the young English defender has struggled to return to the form he had found during his run of games and has fallen to the back of many Arsenal fans minds.
Rob Holding was an up and coming defensive star for Arsenal and I believe still has a great future. The 20/21 season will be a huge one for the young defender and I feel Arteta needs to give the lad a chance to shine and once again prove himself
