Do you know what for a change I want to shout out to the Police. Today my husband tried to save a young persons life and unfortunately didn’t make it as the injuries were too severe. This isn’t an abnormal day for him though it’s just that he never gets any recognition for how
Fucking hard he works day in day out, long shifts all round the clock. People seem to forget that the police are human, they’re worried too by this virus, it’s wiping out their teams and many like my husband worry about bringing it home to a vulnerable person. They are being spat
At, bitten, abused coughed on and all I see is people complaining about being approached for being outside when they’re trying to do a job in seriously difficult circumstances. I am so proud of how hard my husband works and at the end of a tough shift he then
Has to come home and be my carer helping me with my dialysis treatments. He’s also trying to juggle his long hours, my medical treatments and do all the food shops and running around as I can’t leave the house. I’m writing this as I watch him after another shift
Exhausted and hurting after the tough day. He hasn’t said anything and probably won’t but he’ll get up and do it all again tomorrow. Next time you run down the Police think about what’s behind that uniform.
