pamela was 19 when she met 22 year old jim at one of the doors& #39; first appearances in 1966; her rebellious sweet spirit found jim& #39;s eccentricity, making it a meeting of two soulmates. they fell in love and began one of the most tumultuous relationships in rock n roll history.
jim would refer to her as her "cosmic partner"; friends would also talk about the couple as them being each other& #39;s "other half". although the love they shared was true, their relationship had never been healthy or easy; actually, it was built on arguments, violence and cheating.
jim would constantly sleep with other girls, which would make pamela feel not truly loved and appreciated and then she& #39;d sleep with other guys too. even tho their relationship was surrounded by conflicts, they would always go back to each other. it was mutually destructive
they lived together for most of the time, but had also had phases of living apart and having affairs. some sources say they got to get married, but the documents weren& #39;t valid in the state of california. however, pamela has called herself "mrs. morrison" til the day she died.
eventually, they& #39;d move to paris in 1971, as pamela insisted that jim should leave the doors to focus on his poetry writing (among other reasons). pamela thought jim was much more than "only a rockstar"; she would tell him he was a true poet and would encourage him to go for it.
although they had moved to another country and started a "new life", their lifestyle hadn& #39;t change much. both of them remained using drugs and jim would get really addicted to alcohol. all of that would eventually lead to his death, reported as heart failure due to heroin use.
pamela claimed to have found him dead in their bathtub, after he had woken her up by heavy breathing at night and decided to take a bath. 3 years after her partner& #39;s death, she& #39;d also die at the same age as he did (27), after facing months of addiction and delusional behaviour.
despite it being a very destructive and toxic relationship to both of them, pamela and jim would feel it was meant to be since they were experiencing the most intense and passionate mutual feeling of their lives; they had true love. they would accept the risks for love.
their relationship remains being one of the greatest examples of love leading to destruction. either they& #39;d have to choose love or their own life, but i guess life for them would feel just too meaningless without one another.
