This is why I'm not answering the silly question about whether we should go back to 8.4.4.
1. Education is bigger than systems. Asking about numbers of a system shows a gross misunderstanding of what education is and what Kenya's education problems are. https://www.nation.co.ke/oped/opinion/Even-with-2-6-3-3--problems-remain/440808-4250252-vilcfyz/index.html
2. I've answered that question for 3 years on TV, on my blog and in seminars, and the question remains constant. So it means Kenyans don't really want to know the answer. https://twitter.com/wmnjoya/status/1120963611709538304?s=19
3. The problems blamed on 8.4.4. are not unique to Kenya or to 8.4.4.

One is exam obsession and cheating. Those are problems rooted in the economy (few opportunities) and government control. https://twitter.com/wmnjoya/status/1054086534222225408?s=19
The other problem attributed to 8.4.4. is too much theory. Kenyans should stop flattering themselves. They are too anti-intellectual to know what theory is. https://twitter.com/wmnjoya/status/1154593018051215361?s=09
I forgot to mention that the colonial administrators were exam cheats, and Cambridge exams had integrity problems right from the 1800s when they started in the UK. https://twitter.com/wmnjoya/status/1220263911993331712?s=19
Another problem people attribute to 8.4.4 is being "too academic." Most Kenyans don't know what "academic" means. "Academic" means engaging in rigorous study and thinking, debate, challenging and applying ideas. Which few Kenyans do, and the few remain abused all their careers.
Also, what Kenyans refer to as "academic" is actually the culture of passive aggression and sadism which makes Kenyans refuse to commit to specifics. https://twitter.com/wmnjoya/status/1248566199396466688?s=09
Another claim about 8.4.4 is that it doesn't prepare graduates ready for work.

No such thing exists, and parasite sector keeps whining about that because it is generally spoiled and abusive. If it doesn't like graduates, it shouldn't employ graduates. https://www.wandianjoya.com/blog/lets-delink-degrees-from-employment
I bothered to put up this thread so that I can share it next time people ask that stupid question which they really don't want answer to. They should just cut the PR and move on.

End.
