I’m not sure about the breathless tone of this Guardian article, but I *have* raised concerns about the dashboard to @NHSX - how will insights will be generated? What governance measures are in place? - wch haven’t been answered https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/12/uk-government-using-confidential-patient-data-in-coronavirus-response?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other">https://www.theguardian.com/world/202...
I’m not sure if this kind of journalism will lead to more transparency - invoking the Leave campaign doesn’t seem helpful right now - but it’s useful if it leads to others asking Qs. I’d be as likely to put this down to “dashboard-itis” and tech solutionising as anything else.
Anyway, as much as anyone can know anything without actually working on the thing, this blog post from Dominic Cummings is probably instructive https://dominiccummings.com/2019/06/26/on-the-referendum-33-high-performance-government-cognitive-technologies-michael-nielsen-bret-victor-seeing-rooms/">https://dominiccummings.com/2019/06/2...
This is a good thread. I said “tech solutionism” above, but “hubris” is a better word. https://twitter.com/privacymatters/status/1249601106126213120?s=21">https://twitter.com/privacyma... https://twitter.com/privacymatters/status/1249601106126213120">https://twitter.com/privacyma...
