If your idea of Jesus comes from the movies about him, please turn off the tv and read The Book. The media has been twisting truth for a very long time. A feminine white Jesus is just the one of many lies about Him and those lies are not insignificant.
Does John’s record of Jesus fit the modern image? My God is a consuming fire. My Lord is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He was not a brute but he was not emasculated either. He was a man of self controlled strength.
One notable exception to the misrepresentation of Jesus in art and literature is in The Chronicles Of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. When asked about Aslan(Jesus) being safe, Mrs. Beaver replied perfectly. He is good.
My primary concern isn’t the misrepresentation of Him in His appearance or demeanor. Those are just easy ones to point out correction. My concern is in the twisted way media presents His character. His words get twisted to justify bad teaching.
People quote "judge not, that ye be not judged"(Matthew 7:1) to deflect correction but they same Jesus said "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."  (Matthew 7:6)
Jesus does tell us not to judge but in the same chapter He tells us to use discernment calling us to recognize that some people are like swine and dogs. Leaving judgment to God does not mean abandoning discernment of ignoring the evil people around us.
We are told to love our neighbor and that gets twisted into a pacifism. Jesus said "...he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."(Luke 22:36) It’s better to be naked than unarmed. There is a time to turn the other cheek and a time to fight. Prepare for both.
