Alright so @ComicPerch mentioned that he finds it odd that the team isn& #39;t really interested in launching Comic Careers and we& #39;ve been more of a "Meh, shrug we told our story we& #39;re good."
Well personally, I think this is a great interview question, but I& #39;ll do this thread:
Well personally, I think this is a great interview question, but I& #39;ll do this thread:
1) Money - Pretty much as we watch the industry collapse upon itself and we& #39;ve realized many a thing. The industry doesn& #39;t pay nearly enough for things such as health insurance (how many creators died last year due to medical issues and to use gofundmes? The money just aint there
2) Crowdfunding - We (mostly me) aren& #39;t HUGE fans of that whole crowdfunding song, dance and hoopla. As a guy who works pretty much 2-3 jobs full time, that whole youtube / con circuit isn& #39;t appealing. Too much room for failure and missteps.
3) and this is the REAL crux of it all. What could we bring to characters like Spidey, Batman, Superman, the X-men, Avengers...etc that would ACTUALLY matter. I mean look DC and Marvel erase and retcon everything withing a few years. So what could I bring to the table that -
Could be both meaningful and long lasting? Taking Spidey as an example the best I could do is retcon One-More-Day, curate the number of "Spiders" in the universe to something more manageable and then what then? Event or another write& #39;ll retcon that years later and then-
ALL that work would effectively be for nothing. Which, is the reason why I think Manga is haaving much more of an impact on things. The stories matter. The deaths matter. The relationships matter. I& #39;m interested in stories that MATTER. So the best way I can think of doing that -
