We are having a session on Heaven's Fragrance page and we are discussing The Christian Walk.I will be updating us here.

THE CHRISTIAN WALK
It's a life long topic
So, momentary pauses are good for reflection and more illumnation

We'd start with *Colossians 2:6&7*

Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him

2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Verse 6 shows us that *We walk in Christ The Way we received Him*
Sounds straightforward,right?

Verse 7 shows us the effects of walking in Him...
The following things happen to us
*We are rooted in Him*
*We are built up in Him*
*We are established in The faith*

Verse 7 shows that what we are taught plays a huge role in achieving the above
So, as a side comment, we must prioritize the teaching ministry and what we are taught
We must not be people who get bored and tired hearing the word explained and clarified.

Let's clarify a few terms....
The Christian *Walk* comes before The Christian *Work*
The work is an effect of the walk
The walk is therefore not first in doing,but in being
In Christ,we have *become*
In Christ,we are also *becoming*

Let's examine this together...

Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

1:10 That ye might *walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;*

V 10 shows us that being fruitful in *every* good WORK is a function of walking worthy of The Lord.

2nd Corinthians 5 vs 14 to 21 is our main text.This scripture shows us that there's a background to 2Cor 5:17 which says.... Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And this background is in verse 15

Check this...

2Cor 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Our newsness in Christ is for a purpose
*THAT WE NO LONGER LIVE UNTO OURSELVES,BUT UNTO HIM*
It's easier to focus on the Christian work than the Christian walk because The Christian work is what everyone can see.
*The Christian is a Christian from within*

Our Walk is a derivative of pure and unbroken fellowship in,and with Christ in the person of the Holy Spirit
That's why We have the ministry of The Holy Spirit

There are other things to consider in our walk.
We came to Jesus because of His Love,but our submission makes Him Lord.
As Lord,His abilities are manifested in and through us

I'd summarize 3 milestones of walk
1. *NATURE*
2. *NURTURE*
3. *STATURE*

1. *NATURE*
This talks about what we have received
This talks about where have been translated to
This talks about what is at work in us
This talks about the kingdom we now belong to

This shows us how we are victorious even before any situation pops up
One of the things that has blown my spirit the most is the first time I read that the same power that raised Jesus is what works in me
It changed my mindset permanently

And it is true
It's not a joke
It's not merely a confession
It is a reality
That power achieved a lot physically and spiritually
See what it did to the grave
See what it did to the soldiers
See what it did to Jesus
See what it did to hell
See what it did to death...

You must settle your heart and believe what Christ has done, else you'd keep allowing yourself to be cheated from what you have and who you are.

Who You are in Christ must be an emphasis for You as a believer
Because everything outside of Christ challenges it.

Because Jesus didn't Just save us, we are now in His folder
For you to open us, You'd have to open Him.

2. *NURTURE*
The ministry of The Word and Holy Spirit in our nurture is the bed rock of our growth. We must understand what nurture means
If we are commited to nurture, we'd not misread the workings of God in us as His children
When we understand nurture,we won't feed the flesh

When we understand Nurture,we would not be too liberal about what we allow into our minds
What *I FEED grows*
What I nurture will become bigger

When we understand nurture, we'd prioritize the checking power of The Holy Spirit.The Holy Spirits Warning/Conviction is not condemnation or sin consciousness.

The checking power of the Holy Ghost must always be at work because He knows what can work out unrighteousness even before it comes out of us.

We must learn not to live by appetites,but by The Spirit. Even without having the wrong motives,all that appetites can achieve is at best in the flesh

When the deciever knows he's got nothing on you,one of his last cards would be what you love or like naturally

Some of the things we struggle with are as a result of chronic/repeated disobedience.
Yeah,The HOLY Spirit won't lead us on a sinward journey

So....
Always always be real with Jesus
He knew how much work He had to do and He already knows what He is doing and will do
In allowing Him nurture You,always be open With Him.
The secrets of the heart
The hidden motives
The hidden agenda
The other side no one knows

Always check motives
That test must always be passed

Ephesians 2:10 shows us that we are made for good works,not dead works

So lastly on Nurture, we'd talk about How we should receive the minstry of The Word.Many times we are looking for word,but what's more important is how we receive The word , Because if we don't receive the word right,it would seem like the word never came.

As a CHRISTIAN, *GROWTH IS COMPULSORY*

Understand Doctrine. We shy away from the word doctrine because it seems like controversy or otherwise, but doctrine is Everyone's business .

2Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Receive God's word without a preconceived mindset,rather receive it for it to change/renew your mind

Search out topics and study
Faith
Redemption
Healing
Prosperity
Discipleship
Leadership
The Holy Spirit
Evangelism
Etc etc
Have notes and journals for these concepts. Your knowledge of any subject is not complete if you don't study the doctrine around it

The amount of painstaking effort you have to put is not for pastors/ teachers only.

Our walk is also rooted in our separation from the world
We are in, but not of the world
I'd leave this the way it is

I'd end with the concept of blinding light. Bright light blinds. How many of us have had to shield our eyes before?
The same knowledge that builds up can puff up.
The same knowledge that enlightens can blind

Do not study scriptures only around a doctrine, it would make you develop an unhealthy narrative
Rather study scriptures as a whole
Study Jesus in every verse.

Don't forget that It's in Him(GOD),You live,and move,and Have your being
You are His offspring.
