Some people say " #SARSCoV2 comes from bats". The estimated time of divergence for SARS-CoV-2 and RaTG13 (the closest 'relative' know from #bats) is 1969 (95% HPD: 1930-2000). So in other words, we simply do not know which host SARS-CoV-2 has been using for the last 50 years!

And to date, there has been no proven direct Bat to Human transmission of any coronavirus. In other words, as far as we know, #Bats have NEVER directly transmitted coronaviruses to Humans.
