What's your follow protocol? I often follow back if people have shared followers, or similar interests. Not so much if they don't have mutuals and/or look a bit suspect or pervy. Some I don't spot straight away but follow later if I notice through interaction.

Curious whether other people do the same. Some people with a ton of followers seem to only follow a tiny fraction of people. Unless you're famous, is that a bit, I don't know, vain and shallow? Or acceptable? I just think it seems a bit rude. Am I wrong?
