Ray Parr was great mates with Howard Kendall and has so many boss Everton stories

The time he randomly got spotted by a Liverpool celeb while out with Duncan Ferguson and Daniel Amokachi at a nightclub in the middle of the African desert is deffo my favourite... Thread ⬇️ #EFC
So, ‘Amo’ was getting married to Miss Tunisia during the close season and invited his Everton team-mates to the wedding. For one reason or another, nobody could attend but, one night while out having dinner, Ray and Dunc decided they’d make the trip and surprise him!
“So me, Duncan and another mate who jumped in, we went to Gammarth in Tunisia. We get there and are sat round the swimming pool; I’ve got a Bacardi, Duncan’s got a scotch, we were having a really good time,” says Ray.
“Then a father and son ask can they sit with us. Our friend had an upset stomach, so the guy asked what the problem was and we told him he wasn’t well. ‘Come with me’ he says and they’re gone for a good 45 minutes". Finally their friend reappeared...
“‘He’s the f**king Prince!’...He’d taken him back to a mansion and called his personal doctor. We were in a nice hotel like!”

If that wasn’t crazy enough, the Tunisian Prince then showed Ray and Dunc the sights in an old battered car. Imagine. Things then got more peculiar...
“The following day we go to Amo’s wedding. They come in on two thrones and the guests are presented to him.” Dunc and Ray merge into the queue to surprise him.

Amokachi is led down the line and spots them: ‘Duncan! Ray! What are you doing here?!’
“The next day Amokachi wanted to take us to a disco in the desert somewhere. He picked us up and we were travelling for about an hour and a half through the desert.

"We only wanted a drink!"

Ray, Big Dunc and Amo finally arrive... #EFC
“The music’s playing away and then a voice booms: ‘Ray Parr?! What are you doing here?!’

Now remember, Ray is with Duncan Ferguson and Daniel Amokachi in a nightclub in the middle of the African desert, literally thousands of miles from home...

“It was f**king Pete Price!”
A nightclub in the African desert and Pete Price was in the same place on the same night. Absolutely crazy.

Better yet, it was Ray he had recognised. Duncan laughed: ‘F**king hell, Ray, I’m supposed to be famous, not you!”
Here are loads more Everton stories Ray told me when I was lucky enough to meet him at the end of last year... including the time he got locked inside Goodison with Kendall, Harvey and the club priest after that 4-4 with Liverpool. They had to crawl out!
