I keep thinking back to this time I was debating with a group of people about who was the biggest minority(as in, who gets the most hate, who has the smallest amount of people in their group, etc.) so there was two straight cis people standing around, a bisexual, a lesbian and me
The bi chick claims that she is the biggest minority bc bi erasure and all that shit. We had just met, we had a mutual friend being the lesbian. She had no idea of my identity so I stood there for a second, having not said anything at all before and said,
“I’m a non-binary lesbian. Literally everyone hates me.” Everyone stood still for a second, mumble a few ”yeah”s and kept walking to the car. We then went out to get Mexican food.
While waiting at the Mexican place, we had another debate about who had the hardest childhood. Another friend who met us there talks about her daddy issues. The lesbian notes that she’s an orphan and both of her parents died to cancer. Everyone looks then looks at me.
The lesbian gives a little “oh. Yeah... Kai’s past is kinda sad...” I stand there a couple seconds before saying, “my mother mentally and emotionally abused me for 13 years of my life. My dad is unaccepting of my knowing my identity early in life, more so that it’s a minority.
The only parent I like is my step-mom who if worst came to worst, would have no say in what happens to me” everyone gave another little “yeah”. I have no idea what the point of this thread is but I guess thanks for listening to my ted talk.
