I’m a progressive. I was with Warren from day one, but the second she dropped out, I supported Bernie.

When Warren suspended, I was repeatedly told by white DSA members, “if you care about those who would benefit from Warren’s policies, you have to support Bernie.”

“If you REALLY cared about those traditionally left behind, you’d vote for Bernie. Otherwise, you were just caught up in the celebrity of Warren.”

I don’t like Joe. Full stop. But I REFUSE to abandon kids in cages, women who would lose access to abortion, and those who lose healthcare as the ACA is gutted.

It sucks that we’re not going to get the big change we wanted this cycle.

But I’m not going to abandon the most vulnerable among us who would benefit from incremental change.

If you’re a white progressive, know this: refusing to vote for Biden is the biggest abuse of your white privilege, perhaps in your lifetime.

And if you have a hard time doing that, then you were never a progressive. You were just caught up in the celebrity of Bernie.
