A dumb side effect of being on music forums so heavily in high school was thanks to that echo chamber I avoided a lot of artists that would have been appropriate for me to have been listening to at that time- same reason my animal collective phase was like 2 years ago

I’m having fun listening to progressively more normie shit even if it’s not doing much for me
