Alright. Since we're here...
The instruction Jesus gave to St Mary Magdalene was "Do not cling to Me." Let's open this up!
Our nature is to want a good thing forever & unchanging. We were designed that way & for that exact purpose. The properly ordered system is...
for us to desire God in that way bc He is the Only One Who can fulfill it. We want the good thing (take Turkish Delight as example) that is not God according to our disorded appetites, all the time, on demand, no matter what.
What Jesus didn't want St Mary clinging to were her...
limited ideas about Him. She saw her rabbi, The Master, die on Friday. Did Jesus' friends know yet Jesus in His Glory? No. Did they truly know Him as God? Peter was inspired to declare Jesus' identity, but when it came down to it, he wasn't able to resist fear...
as Thomas wasn't able to resist doubt & most tragically Judas wasn't able to resist despair. What Jesus didn't want St Mary Magdalene to cling to was His identity as she had understood it up to that point, since He was yet to reveal Himself as so much unimaginably more!..
His message was Not Yet! When she could truly know Him through the change that the Holy Spirit would work in the hearts of His chosen, THEN she and we would be able to and must cling to Him in His fullness.

Good talk, guys.
She wasn't a priestess & Jesus didn't diss her, k? K.
