Lesser Known Fact:

The national animal of Pakistan, the Markhor, is considered the cattle of the fairies in the Dardic culture of northern Pakistan.

In olden times, it was believed each fairy herds her own group and only the best hunters could target a markhor. 1/2
They could only be targeted with the permission of the fairy and if one did not take it, the hunter would either be killed or suffer devastation. Often hunters would fall in love with fairies and vice versa.

A man in my village was married to a fairy but that’s another story.
