I live in the corporate world and have for the past 20 plus years

Men in this world come in two varieties

Zoo Bears or Wild Bears

I will explain the differences between them

And why Black Men need to increase our percentage of WILD BEARS

Zoo Bears

•all needs met by handlers when handlers decide (food, water, sex, sun, social, exercise)
•would never harm handlers, will fight fellow Zoo Bear for crumbs
•enjoy crowds observing
•lazy, fat, sedentary
•believe hunting is morally wrong
•blindly obedient

Wild Bears

•meet own needs as they arise
•will rip anyone’s face off on GP as necessary
•do not trust other animals and never humans
•hate being observed-might rip face off
•enjoys hunting and killing
•lean, strong and prepared for battle
•only obedient if advantageous

Every successful white man I know

Is a Wild Bear

Unashamed unadulterated uncut SAVAGERY

Someone offends them? Ripping faces off

Get screwed? Lashing with claws out

Someone tries to steal their kill? Fight to death

All this is expected tolerated accepted and admired

Amost every Black Man I know in Corp life?

ZOO BEAR

Someone offends them? Tolerated or maybe whine to HR

Get screwed? Oh well

Someone steals their kill? Such is life

Zoo Bears think this will earn handlers respect & better seat at table

Wrong! Defines U as ZOO BEAR

In fact, this is so common

Others EXPECT US TO BE ZOO BEARS

One day they run into a Black Wild Bear - can’t comprehend it, cognitive dissonance

Convinced Black Wild Bear is nuts - too aggressive, defective, bad fit, not team player

Just have not seen Black Wild Bear before

We need more Black Wild Bears!

•only way to get RESPECT
•drives expectation for future success (wow, he’s a STUD!)
•drives expectation of leadership potential & where bets / resources are placed
•says - I will hurt others and leave if you screw me
•not dependent on handlers

It’s funny, we are such good Zoo Bears

Even when they put us in a gig requiring Wild Bear behavior

We stay in the Zoo Bear frame, seeking approval and acceptance of handlers instead of demanding respect

This leads to failure in big gigs eventually and marks you as a minion

I don’t blame them any more

I blame us

If only 30% of Brothers I know in high positions were Wild Bears

Many of our problems would disappear

Bring your WILD BEAR TO F*CKING WORK! RIP FACES OFF! PROTECT YOUR KILLS! STAY HUNGRY! LIVE FOR THE HUNT! TOLERATE 0 DISRESPECT!!
